Boats to the islet run whenever the weather allows, but the season really runs from May to October.
| Months | What to expect |
|---|---|
| April – May | Green hills, mild weather, few crowds |
| June | Warm and lively; a great all-round month |
| July – August | Hot and busy, especially on cruise-ship days; Fašinada on 22 July |
| September – October | Warm sea, softer light, fewer people |
| November – March | Quiet, cooler and wetter; boats run less often |
Best time of day
Cruise passengers from Kotor usually reach Perast mid-morning. Visit early in the morning or in the late afternoon for calmer water, softer light on the church facade and fewer people on the islet.
Photography tip
The classic view of both islets is from the hillside above Perast or from the water just south of St George. In the evening, the church glows warm against the dark mountains.
