Perast

A tiny Baroque town of sea captains' palaces and church towers — the departure point for the island.

Updated 1 min read

Perast was once a wealthy town of sea captains under Venetian rule. Its single waterfront street is lined with stone palaces, small churches and the tall bell tower of St Nicholas, which you can climb for views over the islets.

The boats to Our Lady of the Rocks leave from the waterfront. Plan an hour or two to wander, visit the town museum in the Bujović Palace and eat by the water.
